Gaming platform Faceit and the Esports Championship Series (ECS) have announced that they will host the first UK-based CS:GO Major competition at London's SSE Arena from September 20 to 23, and will organise the whole event from start to finish, including online qualifiers and the LAN event itself.

Faceit has hosted competition Open Qualifiers before for CS:GO Majors, but here they'll be able to bring this to their own event. What's more is that their platform also allows any team to participate, which they're hoping should bring "a new level of excitement to the Major this September."

The event will have a $1 million USD prize pool and see 24 teams compete in front of 10,000 spectators, but that's not all, as Faceit will support local activities for fans around the globe to gather and watch the Major, including streams with "new dedicated features to improve the fan's experience," as the press release says.

"We are extremely proud to have the Faceit London Major named an official CS:GO Major," said Michele Attisani, Chief Business Officer and Co-Founder of Faceit. "The community is always at the heart of everything we do here at Faceit, and we've been so excited to see the reaction from the community on the rumours about us hosting the next Major. If it wasn't for our ECS showcasing the potential of the city and how strong the UK fanbase is, this would not be happening in London, so thank you to everyone for your support, and we're looking forward to seeing you in September."

Tickets will go on sale on April 2, so make sure to be ready if you want to attend. Are you glad to see the Major coming to London?
